Hi! My name is Laura Li and I'm majoring in biochemistry. I hope to attend medical school and become a pediatrician. For now, you'll see me in the emergency room of Shady Grove Hospital transporting patients to their rooms. I hope I don't see any of you there, but if you are, stop by and say hello. I am also a math tutor at a local elementary school with the America Reads and America Counts program. Other then that you'll see me on a volleyball court or curled up with a book and listening to music.

Hi! My name is Sowmya Swamy. I am currently a senior at the University of Maryland double majoring in Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics, and Government and Politics. I am the founder of the Marrow for Tomorrow Club on campus that raises awareness and holds drives for the issue of bone marrow donation. I am also a member of the College of Chemical and Life Sciences student advisory board, and seek to resolve issues commonly faced by students in the college. Other than that I love to travel, meet new people and have as much fun as I can!

Hello, my name is Max Wolf. I'm majoring in chemistry, biology and physics. My work interests are more related to the study of evolution and the origin of life. When I can allow myself to forget about work, I enjoy traveling and hiking in places that are far away from people. If there's not enough time to get out of town, I have volleyball, my acoustic guitar, jigsaw puzzles and books. If all else fails there are always games on my computer!

Extracurricular wise I'm active with a variety of groups on campus including Peer Leadership Council, University Student Judiciary, and Honors Ambassadors (all of which are very found of acronyms, thus: PLC, USJ, and HAs). Outside of structured activies, you can probably find me curled up in a tree with a book, browsing Deviant Art (www.deviantart.com- you should visit), drawing, painting, enjoying the wind/shade, singing (most likely while drawing and/or reading), or with my awesome friends.

My name is Mary Yanik, and I'm majority in chemistry and government and politics. I'm from Emporia, KS, and I now am a senior at the University of Maryland. I am interested in the social implications of scientific discoveries. I love political theory and progressive politics; I am very involved in labor and feminist activism through the student organization, Feminism Without Borders. I intend to go to law school once I graduate from Maryland. I also enjoy intercollegiate debate, where I represent the Maryland Parliamentary Debate Society.
